From shrenik shah's residence Work on this project completed in 2001, when i was working with Aakruti Architects. Client Mr Shrenik Shah, local politician of vapi, Gujarat.India. The Brief; Speaking visually, the interiors would convey a feeling of lightness, of floating elements. Modern look with simple elements and neat defined edges.Everything would be custom designed down to the last chair. The color palette would be in the direction of ' warm and hospitable'pastel colors picked from the natural environment with a supporting accent color, different for each room. Scope of design; Living rooms, Dining room, Bedrooms with walk in wardrobes, in short everything below the ceiling. This chair in the visual above weighted 3.5 kilos, easily lifted with one hand is in contrast with the dining table whose visual center of gravity is way way low. |

From shrenik shah's residence The idea was to negate the 'enclosure' of the BOXY living room space. On a functional level , this ceiling element had to support fans and lights. The visual language follows the Brief. Techinical Details : The whole assembly weights about 800kg. The wood surface is plywood veneered and polished. The lights are 75 watt halogens, not really heating up the air because of the shape of the ceiling. In a nutshell, the design takes the 'false' out of the false ceiling. |
From hitachi exhibition delhi Hitachi 'inspires the next' the punchline made me realize that a good mascot of this exhibition would be michelangelo. The first element that an audience would notice , our mascot engraved into a metal textured wall embedded into a tower of red. This is the symbolical 'pause' that grabbed the attention of an onlooker and led him inside onto the journey of discovering the latest products of Hitachi air conditioners. The layout was open planned. People enter and go-choose from five available directions leading to 5 different products. Simple and effective. The color palette is Red-Orange in contrast to the blue floor. The exhibition was worked out in 2 phases.
Project sucessfully installed in 4 days time. |
From tradigital sketches This is a personal project inspired from like minded artists spread across the web community. Most of the time , about 80 percent is used to decide the 'points of focus' , details that i would want the audience to not miss. Softwares used. Sketchup, Piranesi and Photoshop. |
From nikhilbhai's chair The brief was to design a chair with a 2"x 1/4" metal flat. and " I need to see wood" Dilip Patel , the architect said. The idea of a tongue and groove joint visually enlarged and illustrated thru a chair was the takeoff point of ' a doodle'. Eventually this has materialized in the chair. The upholstered black fabric material has grooved inot the wooden bracket-edge. So have the armrests versus the backrest and seat assembly. Unlike traditional processes, the model is made first to help in the deisgn process. Acad drawings follow. |

From garima This is a photoragraph. True or false ? This visual is virtual. The trick is to introduce humans and landscape elements to match the exact coloration of that point in the image. This visual was created for Snehal Shah using 3D max. Making photoreal renders usually is the last stage of a client approval. It makes sense specially considered from the point of view of lighting. In this case the simulated lights have real world specification , called the IES lights. They may be any of the below.

CLICK SCREEN TO SEE ANIMATON The Brief: To design corporate offices of Sharpex Industries which would be
these would be spread across 2 floors covering an area of 4000 sqft. The design concept. Sharepex, a manifacture of mostly wood slicing machinary which give me an idea of floating planes, and so the story evolves.........the architecture and interiors wouldn't touch each other-apparently. The color palate is burnt sienna and ochre with black or white background. Green on and off. The Designed Space. The entrance foyer is watched down by the boss thru a slit window . He has 180 degree visual access all around ending in the display area. The green room, the lunch and relaxation room is partly open to sky, the floor breaks to allow vegetation and the vertical wall is perforated to allow breeze making it a very savoury space. There is an exterior gallery displaying sharpex tools and machinary. Flowing and Informal. |
